Stay at Lunuganga

There are five  suites at the Lunuganga Estate. The Suites are preserved in, as close to the way they existed in the lifetime of the architect and full of an eclectic mixture of original antique, sometimes modern furniture and contemporary and traditional artworks.

The public rooms include a sitting room and the Garden Room. In addition there are several garden pavilions for relaxation which include the Roman Pavilion and the Blue Pavilion. Although Lunuganga does not have a swimming pool, the beautiful beache of Bentota is  just a short drive away that offers numerous water sports and safe swimming.

In addition the Trust also operates the Guest Suite at the Number 11 House, which is available for bed and breakfast accommodation in Colombo.

ROOMS IN THE CINNAMON HILL HOUSE

The Cinnamon hill house was the last major construction to happen on the estate and consists of a sitting area, entrance hall, two bedrooms with unique en suite bathrooms and a separate pantry and staff area. It may be reserved by the room or as a whole.

THE GALLERY ROOM

The Gallery Room is by far the largest suite on the estate. A bed is placed in the middle of what was otherwise a gallery housing a part of the Geoffrey Bawa Collection.

THE GATEHOUSE SUITE

The Gatehouse Suite overlooks the northern part of the Cinnamon Hill and was once used to house architectural assistants that Bawa brought along if he needed to work during a weekend in the 1960's.

THE GLASS ROOM

The Glass Room is an unusual room that bridges across the entry portico and is entirely glass walled on two sides.
