Exhibition Sinhala tour and Albion press demonstration with co-curator Kosala Senevirathne

  • Geoffrey Bawa Space 42 /1 Horton Place Colombo, Western Province, 00700 Sri Lanka (map)

Join Kosala Senevirathne — Mooniak co-founder and exhibition co-curator — for the first Sinhala tour of the Akurugraphy exhibition. With a focus on his native script, Sinhala, Kosala’s practice spans typeface design, typographic research, and multiscript editorial design. He is guided by a commitment to bridging communication gaps among Sri Lanka’s official languages.

Kosala’s Sinhala exhibition tour will include a demonstration of the antique Albion Press currently on display at Akurugraphy. An early iron hand letterpress, the Albion Press was originally designed and manufactured in London. Letterpress printing on machines such as the Albion was the dominant industrial printing technique worldwide until the late 1970s.
